Shapefile Export for GIS Integration
Users can now export poles, spans, and attributes as ESRI Shapefiles (SHP, SHX, DBF) from both web and iOS. Exports are GIS-ready and structured for direct use in ArcGIS, QGIS, and other platforms.
Why it matters: This simplifies data transfer to mapping systems, ensuring accurate and consistent field data across teams.
Height Unit Selector (Feet ↔ Meters)
Users can now toggle between feet and meters when annotating pole measurements, supporting international teams and region-specific standards.
Why it matters: Dynamic unit switching removes the need for manual conversions and adapts seamlessly to local measurement preferences.
Enhanced Height Display (Feet & Inches)
When tapping on a point during photo annotation, the system now displays height in both decimal feet and traditional feet-and-inches format.
Why it matters: This dual-display improves clarity for field teams accustomed to standard field tape measurements.
Mobile Map: Current Location Indicator
On iOS devices, users can now view their current GPS location directly within the map interface, alongside all project pole markers.
Why it matters: Real-time location awareness improves navigation and situational awareness, especially in dense or unfamiliar areas, making fieldwork faster and safer.
D8Acapture now supports drawing and editing lines and polylines directly on project maps across both web and mobile. Users can add multiple points, select line type and color, view automatic length calculations, and make edits at any time. All line data stays synced between platforms, ensuring teams always see consistent information. The system also checks for nearby poles and prompts association when within 3 feet.
Why it matters: This update gives teams a faster and more accurate way to represent spans, cables, and conduit paths. Consistent cross-platform data and guided association reduce errors, streamline field workflows, and improve project clarity.
Admins can now create fully customizable forms to collect project-specific data. Whether you need dropdowns, photo uploads, measurements, or documents, forms can be tailored to fit your workflow.
Why it matters: This gives teams more flexibility to standardize data collection across different job types without relying on rigid defaults.
Per-Pole Form Tracking + Offline Readiness
Each pole now independently tracks its associated forms, and improvements to offline behavior ensure reliable data capture—even without a strong connection.
Why it matters: Great for field crews working in low-signal areas or syncing data across multiple projects.
Under-the-Hood Enhancements
We’ve improved syncing speed, added thumbnail support for photos to reduce load times, and made navigation more responsive.
Why it matters: These background upgrades result in a faster, more reliable experience across the platform.
